House Beautiful's 9 Part Home Renovation Series Comes to Completion

House Beautiful magazine's November 2010 issue wraps up their 9 part monthly home makeover column.  Over the last year, HB has followed homeowner Annie Selke, as she renovated a 1960's ranch house in Lenox, MA.  Selke, the owner and founder of Pine Cone Hill - a bedding & textile company known for vibrant designs - downsized from her 8 bedroom 1887 house in the Berkshires to accommodate a new chapter in her life.  Her desire for change was prompted by a daughter away at school and a recent divorce and she had little need for a big house with big & unused space.  With the help of architect John Gilmer, Selke gutted the interiors and re-worked the existing spaces of her newly acquired 1,800 square foot home in keeping with a 21st century lifestyle - finishes include a new kitchen, new bathrooms, new windows, and a raised roof line to allow for a 10' master bedroom ceiling.  Check out the before and after images below and click here for more info from House Beautful.
